Workers in the chicken industry don't go to Democratic fundraisers, thanks for covering this. I'm posting because I'm helping out on a campaign that could bring a Antitrust believer to the US Senate. Great stuff, Matt, thanks for the piece. A description of the poultry market roll-up would make a wonderful civics lesson for young and old students alike. Greed and power and domination make intriguing stories as well.

$85 million is chicken feed -- and it appears no admission of guilt. Unless more actions are forthcoming, this is pitiful and will do little to reduce monopoly power in the industry.

I would be curious as to how this might affect the chickens - would the issue of factory farms enter the picture - and how they might be favored or disfavored by the resolution of this issue - would "efficiency" and "productivity" suffer if the chickens were treated better ....
