This story is a gift to every stand-up comedian in America. (Sorry Amazon warehouse workers.)

That would be funny if it wasn’t funny. Her hiring was probably an inside joke but now we can all enjoy it. As long as you use the right pronouns to keep the liberals happy everything else gets a green light.

I bet prisoners are treated better than Amazon workers so perhaps conditions will improve. The projected career span of an Amazon worker before physical disability and/or burnout is only a few years whereas in prison they take a longer term approach to accommodate those with a life sentence. I don’t know how delivery drivers and warehouse workers will be accommodated on the chain gang without slowing delivery times. Perhaps they can use some kind of virtual chains - oh yeah that’s what constant surveillance by camera, gps, and RFID chips is all about - to free the workers from chains. Corporate innovation is bringing us closer to utopia /s.

Nothing like being transparent about how they view employees - "human resources" indeed, to be mined, processed, fabricated, used and discarded

This is a really good fit - I will bet she was involved in contracting prison labor, she'll fit right in at Amazon. Scarlett O'Hara would be proud ... (dating myself :) )

I worked in my state’s Juvenile prison system for over thirty years, and I think putting a private-for-profit corporation in charge of an incarcerated population is the epitome of moral cowardice. After viewing the video I was reminded how ambiguous the phrase “ Criminal Justice System” is. For the first 10 - 12 years of my employment I never heard that phrase- we were just The Juvenile Corrections system for our state. I found many who are attracted to the field’ of Criminal Justice were interested in the surveillance and arrest powers, or were looking towards FBI or Homeland Security employment. And a degree in that field has played hand and glove with the privatization of the prison industry - as well as Amazons new employee “training” program.

So former Intelligence officials overseeing posts on social media (Twitter and FB) and former prison executives managing Human Resources in a company that’s wiping out Main Street - what’s not to like?

Brute force and the destruction of human moral dignity. Imposition of a psyop and manufactured reality painting all workers as lazy, incompetent and "deplorable". The dollar and the withholding of the dollar. Unpaid "overtime" backed with the threat of being fired. The manipulation of hours. Repetitive physical task's that lead to permanent injury without compensation. Intentional manipulation of the workplace, community and nation to create homelessness, crime, fear, insecurity, depression and anxiety. The introduction of informers into the workplace and the nation to create distrust and paranoia. Seeing human beings as valueless, faceless, discardable and interchangeable. The destruction of the lives and/or the disappearance and murder of those who protest or attempt to organize against injustice. The looting and manipulation of a nation's finances to hold it's people in thrall. The at a profit mass incarceration of surplus labor. The farming out of cheap prison labor to private employers. The dismantling of public education making it easier to manipulate and cheat the potential labor pool. The herding of the poor and dispossessed into designated ghetto's and "war zones". The intentional at a profit introduction of drugs into poor neighborhoods to create chaos and make residents susceptible to arrest. Prison sentences of twenty-five to life for victimless crimes. The merger of a for profit national prison industrial complex with mainstream society. Mass importation of illegal labor to depress wages and destabilize communities. The willful destruction of "the family" and the "nation state". Creation of surveillance organizations and enforcers to control potential labor unrest. Using baksheesh and largesse to compromise the peoples elected political representatives. The criminalization of citizenship and the declaration that those seeking change are terrorists. The arrest, and incarceration without bail, in the name of "national security", of journalists who expose criminal actions. A criminal affiliation of Billionaire's funding NGO's and irrational solutions to climate change as cover for the seizure of all productive farm land and natural resources for exploitation and profit without consequence. THE REDUCTION OF THE PEOPLES OF THE WORLD TO A FEUDAL STATE TO PROVIDE A RULING ELITE SUBSISTENCE LABOR.

"Ism's" are dead. All that remains is the free citizen, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights it contains. Know your enemy!!

There are many, many of us who did not have the advantage of a college education but at least we're getting to pay for that privilege now for others who have been relieved of their responsibility to pay for theirs.

I love the that comments have picked up on the irony of the work incarceration state being just fine, in Amazons eyes, as long as it is properly diverse. Support Amazon Labor Union here, make Matt's post help the unions
